Posada La Posa, Todos Santos Mexico

By AustinPixels

My wife and I met Libusche Wiesendanger in an art gallery while exploring Todos Santos deep in the Baja Peninsula. After looking at her paintings she told us about a resort that she and her husband Juerg owned on the outskirts of town along the Pacific ocean. She described what sounded like a hidden Oasis with a bed and breakfast, lagoon, eight wonderful rooms and a expansive garden of trees, flowers and cacti.

My first inclination while listening was that the description sounded inflated with amenities and scenic views that were to good to be true in this otherwise simple town. Boy was I wrong.

After a trek down some back dirt roads we arrived at Posada La Posa and were greeted at the front door by Libusche and Juerg. Libusche gave us a tour of the grounds and let us peek in a few rooms.

On their web page it says “These are the 3 main sounds you’ll hear on the property: the sound of the surf, the sound of the birds and – the sound of peace and silence.” and that is absolutely true. From the balcony of one room I could feel the power of the surf as it crashed onto the beach even though it was about 1/2 mile away. There are no TV’s to pollute the peace and on this day we were the only customers around.

The evening was drawing near and we had about an hour drive back to Cabo but we had some time to enjoy a drink on their large terrace overlooking the garden, lagoon and sun setting over the ocean.

No Description Needed

If we had time on our trip, or knew about this beforehand we would have stayed here a few nights. This would be a great destination wedding location or somewhere were you really can forget about it all and relax for awhile. So if you ever find yourself near the tip of the Baja peninsula give this place a chance, I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Nice story and that shot with the beer and the sunset is money. Love it, nice work.

I spent one night at La Poza in January 2010 and agree with everything you said. The only drawbacks are that the ocean is too dangerous to swim in along the beach and the dirt road leading in is rutted and tough to navigate in a smallish car. The room was lovely as was the setting and breakfast, and walking the beach was fabulous.
