A few months ago I went on the Austin Eats BBQ tour. Tours rotate so check their website to see what tours they are offering. This one started off on the east side at a picnic table with Franklin BBQ, and if you so desire (I did) ice cold beer.
Beer at 11AM??? Yes! The day ahead was spent being shuttled in the back of a van with just enough time to digest in between stops.
Second stop was at la Barbecue. It was near the end of this stop I could sense the meat wall fast approaching. I was determined to push through it and cracked another beer, got in the van and we headed over to Sugar Mama’s.
The sweet cupcake was a great intermission before the next stop, Stiles Switch BBQ on North Lamar.
Remember that meat wall? Here it is. Stiles Switch has a very cool vibe and feel and the BBQ was good.
After this there was only one more thing to do, wash it down with more beer! Hops & Grain is one of my favorite craft beer brewers in Austin. I’ve been here a few times previous to this and they are always friendly and I always have a good time.
Thanks to Andy and team!
