This is why I love photography, especially sports photography; the ability to capture a moment, a moment whose details are forever lost, but with the press of a button are captured and reviewable for all time to come (except for a zombie apocalypse).
In this photo, Jonathan Holmes of Texas shoots a last second shot to win the game. 1.2 seconds to go and frozen in time is the anticipation, hopes and emotions of each person, regardless of team affiliation.
The cheerleader watching the ball with a huge smile, the kid in the front row with his hands in a prayer position and the countless eyes watching the flight of the ball.
THIS is why I love sports photography.
